Salzburg

The lovely old city of Salzburg is about 45 minutes drive away. It is famous amongst other things for its strong association with Mozart and the setting for the celebrated ’Sound of Music’ film.
Hallstatt

Hallstatt is a UNESCO World Heritage site and only a few miles away. Excursions to the ancient salt mines and ice caves are nearby.
Bad Ischl

A wonderful thermal spa town much loved by the Kaisers. Many points of interest and a visit to the famous Zauner Konditorei - cake shop- is a must.
St Wolfgang

The lakeside areas of Wolfgangsee have numerous places of interest including St Wolfgang which can be reached by the ferries which criss cross the lake, or by car. The lakes are clean and warm enough to swim in during the summer.

A little further a field in Germany is Hitler’s Eagles Nest at Berchtesgarten.
The stunning Grossglockner Pass makes a lovely day trip which can include a visit to the Franz Joseph Glacier.
